My Under-Eye Refresh
(and Everything Else Cosmetic I’ve Done)
There’s a certain kind of tired you can’t fix with sleep.
And I don’t mean actual tired - I mean the kind that lives on your face in photos. The kind that makes you look like you’ve been crying, stressed, or running on 4 hours of sleep… even when you feel totally fine.
It’s always bothered me, especially as I’ve gotten older. So at 33 - I did something about it.
This week I had a lower bleph, fat pad removal, an under eye skin pinch, and micro + nano fat transfer to my tear trough with Dr. Savetsky.
And since I’ve already been getting tons of questions, I figured I’d do what I always try to do: be honest.
Not vague. Not “it’s just my skincare.” Not pretending. Just the truth.
Why I did it
This wasn’t some dramatic “I hate my face” moment. It was actually the opposite.
I’ve been feeling really good lately - mentally, physically, emotionally. I’ve grown into myself in a way I don’t think I fully appreciated in my 20s.. and do really think physically I look the best I’ve ever looked. My 30’s have felt like my prime.
But for YEARS, my under-eyes were the one little thing that always bothered me - we all have our “one thing” and this was definitely mine. I would over-conceal which just ended up look caky, or do nothing at all and feel ghostly.
Not even in real life honestly - mostly on camera, in certain lighting, certain angles, certain photos where I’d see myself and think: Why do I look so exhausted? I feel fine!
It wasn’t about wanting to look “different.” It was about wanting to look like how I feel.
More rested.
More refreshed.
A little younger.
A little brighter.
At 33, it just felt like the next thing I wanted to do for myself. And with the right resources, why the hell not. Because I’m allowed to choose what makes me feel confident.
What it actually was (in normal person terms)
A lower bleph is basically a procedure that can help with:
under-eye puffiness
the “bags” that don’t go away
loose skin
and the shadow/hollow area underneath (tear trough)
In my case, it was first just going to be the under eye skin pinch - but I was going under and there was enough to do it all - so what we did was a combination of removing some fat, tightening a tiny bit of skin, and using micro/nano fat transfer to soften the hollow. Where we took that nano fat from to inject? My knees!! Most people take the fat from their inner thighs, thats the most common, but I requested this little stubborn area above my knees where no matter how many lunges or workouts I did I couldn’t get it to tighten up. It most likely won’t be noticeable but this was the added bonus of my under eye procedure.
So it’s not like one extreme thing with the eyes - it’s more like balancing the area so it looks smoother and more natural.
The goal is not “snatched.” The goal is “she sleeps.”
Let’s talk about transparency
I’ve been online a long time, and something I’ve always hated is the weird performance everyone does where they act like nothing is enhanced. As if we’re all naturally blurred, lifted, and symmetrical because we drink water. There’s cosmetic procedures, there’s facetune, there’s paris filter! Duh!
I’m not here to convince anyone to get surgery or injections - definitely not. And I’m definitely not saying anyone needs to change anything about themselves.
I’d rather people know: this is what I’ve done, this is why, and this is what’s actually possible.
So… what other cosmetic stuff have I done?
I’ve shared about this before but since people always ask - here’s the list.
1. Nose job (senior year of high school)
Yes, I had a rhinoplasty when I was a senior in high school.
I don’t even have some dramatic story around it - it was something I wanted at the time, a lot of Long Island Jewish girls did it, I did it, and that’s the truth. I used my bat mitzvah money to pay for the procedure and have always thought it was one of the most natural best looking nose jobs!
2. Lip filler
I’ve done filler in my lips. Mainly to even them out - I refresh this once a year with Dr Bill Kestin uptown.
I like it when it’s subtle and still looks like mine. I’m not trying to look like a duck or bimbo, I just like a little enhancement.
3. Botox (forehead + crow’s feet)
Forehead Botox is one of those things where you don’t realize how much you move your face until you stop doing it. This is more maintenance for me than anything. 3 times a year with Dr Bill and never ever frozen!
4. Botox (neck)
Yes, I’ve also done Botox in my neck. 1-2 times a year - blame tech neck! Occupational hazard?
This one always surprises people when I say it out loud, but it’s actually more common than you think and it’s something I’ve personally LOVED the results of.
5. My under-eye refresh (lower bleph)
And now, adding this to the list:
Lower bleph (fat pad removal + skin pinch + micro/nano fat transfer).
My rule with all of it
My personal rule is: I want to look like me - just a little more rested.
Not unrecognizable. Not frozen. Not like I’m trying to be 22 again.
Just… refreshed.
And I think there’s something kind of powerful about owning that.
What I’ll share next
I’ll share recovery updates, what it actually feels like, and what I wish I knew going into it. If you’re following on Instagram that’s happening in real time but I’ll dive into more details here too!
And if you’re someone who’s been curious but too nervous to ask - you can ask me anything. Nothing is TMI here.
Because if we’re going to talk about beauty, aging, and confidence online, I want it to be in a way that feels honest… not performative.

the transparency 👏🏻
I’ve had “work” done myself. I’m 60 now and love the body I’m in. I never understood the secrecy around procedures. I’ve always been honest, perhaps to a fault at times but I’m happy to share my road and my experiences with people who are curious (yes I’ve shown before and after pictures too). I do it for myself, so others opinions don’t matter (save for my husband of course). My husband would never encourage or discourage my decisions to have plastic surgery. He simply supports my decisions . I’m very happy that you’re attempting to change stigma of the “hush”. All procedures are personal choice and frankly the “it’s no body’s business” still resonates with me, however if it helps to educate someone and they are asking, I’m happy to share. Good on you for being transparent. To the person above who commented about under eye filler, so what? She forgot or it wasn’t worth the mention. No one is keeping score except you.
